well its sucker time very soon . as soon as the local shop's get them in. i have been having some guy's ask me about keeping them alive. I have a 75 gal aquaruim in the garage with 3 huge double filters on it and extra water movement pumps too. and can keep them alive for a long time , just by using some common knowledge.I wouldn't worry about feeding them. They will be fine for at least a full week, most will probably make it for 2 weeks. If you did want to feed them though I would suggest getting a mesh bag (like a fruit or veggie bag), put your food supply in the bag and then tie the bag to the top (center) of the tank. I would use earth worms, minnows (dead or alive), any seafood table scraps...hell, cube up a bluegill if you want to. Sucker will eat just about anything they can fit in their mouth. (They are big fans of small invertabrates, and "easy" meats, like dead or injured minnows..or just buy a dozen crappie minnows and they will feed on them too. The first time you feed I wouldn't put too much in the bag. If they don't take to the set up you will just be making a mess and possibly adding "some" stress to an already stressful situation. If they do show a willingness to eat this way then you can load the bag up as needed. Again, I wouldn't worry about it. As long as they are in cool water with decent O2 they will be fine Attachments:
